High Level Bridge Streetcar departs from the Old Strathcona stop at Gateway Blvd. N.W. and 84 Ave. N.W. and from downtown s. of Jasper Ave. and w. of 109 St. N.W. A vintage streetcar takes passengers along the old Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) line across the 48-metre (157 ft.) High Level Bridge, built 1910-13 to link Old Strathcona and downtown Edmonton. The narrated, 6-kilometre (3.7 mi.) trip offers excellent views of the city and the North Saskatchewan River Valley.

The Strathcona Streetcar Barn Museum features exhibits relating the history of the Edmonton Streetcar System; included are conductor uniforms, photographs and antique ticket punches.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 45 minutes minimum.

Round-trip streetcar fare $7; free (ages 0-5); $25 (family, two adults and children). Museum free. Cash only.

Streetcars operate Sun.-Fri. 11-4:20, Sat. 9-4:20, Victoria Day-Labour Day; Fri. and Sun. 11-4:20, Sat. 9-4:20, day after Labour Day-Thanksgiving. Hours extended to 10 p.m. during the Fringe Festival in Aug. Museum open Sat. 10-2, late May-early Oct. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
