The Sitka History Museum is at 330 Harbor Dr. in the Harrigan Centennial Building. The museum features exhibits depicting the history of Sitka, including the area's earliest inhabitants and the legacy of World War II. Displays illustrate the lifestyles of the Tlingit along with the town's Russian, Finish, Asian and American settlers. An 8-square-foot diorama shows Sitka as it appeared in 1867, the year Alaska was transferred to the United States from Russia.
