Valdez Museum & Historical Archive is at 217 Egan Dr. The museum documents the complete history of Valdez. Interpretive exhibits explain the impact of the gold rush, the 1964 earthquake, the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill. The Remembering Old Valdez exhibit, 436 S. Hazelet Ave., focuses on the years 1957-67. A 1907 Ahrens fire truck and a Fresnel lighthouse lens also are featured.
