Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village is 52 km (32 mi.) e. on Hwy. 16, 3 km e. of the entrance to Elk Island National Park. The open-air living history museum re-creates the lifestyle of Ukrainian immigrants who settled in east central Alberta 1892-1930. Costumed interpreters demonstrate settlers' daily routines and talk about their struggles, and the grounds include more than 35 restored buildings, houses, churches and stores that can be toured.
Special events are held throughout the summer.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
