Saamis Teepee is at jct. Hwy. 1 and South Ridge Dr. Made of steel, the tepee stands approximately 20 stories high. Storyboards incorporated in the tepee stand 3.6 metres (12 ft.) high and depict First Nations history. Used during the 1988 Olympics in Calgary, the tepee was moved to Medicine Hat where it now stands above the Saamis Archaeological Site—the location of a 16th-century buffalo camp.
