Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site, .5 mi. w. via SR 264, is the oldest continuously operated trading post in the Navajo Nation. In 1878 John L. Hubbell bought the trading post and established himself as a leading trader. Hubbell's collection of Western art and Native American crafts is displayed in his furnished house on the site.

The trading post and the Hubbell home depict the role of trading in the history of the Southwest and the life of a trader's family. The trading post conducts business much as it did when the Hubbell family ran it. Members of the Navajo, Hopi, Zuni and other tribes sell and trade such crafts as hand-woven rugs, jewelry, baskets and pottery. Ranger-led programs, guided house tours and weaving demonstrations are offered.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
