Fort Smith National Cemetery is at 522 Garland St. at S. 6th St. Established in 1867, the cemetery contains the graves of many who were important to the area, including Brig. Gen. William O. Darby, organizer of Darby's Rangers; Maj. William C. Bradford, who established the first fort; and Judge Isaac C. Parker, who held court in Fort Smith during the years of the Indian Territory days.
