Pueblo Grande Museum, 4619 E. Washington St., contains a prehistoric Hohokam archeological site and museum which serves as a living legacy to the ingenuity of the prehistoric engineers who created thriving villages and canal systems that modern Phoenix replicated to deliver water to the surrounding Valley. Outdoor exhibits include full-size replicas of Hohokam pit houses and adobe compound houses. Interactive museum exhibits center on archeology and the life of the Hohokam. Changing exhibits and family-friendly programs also are available. Special events are offered, including Ancient Tech Day the second Saturday in March and a Native American market in December.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
