Arizona Historical Society/Downtown History Museum, 140 N. Stone Ave., depicts downtown Tucson's history from its origins as a Spanish presidio in 1775 to modern times. Visitors may visit a 19th-century hotel lobby and an old-time barbershop. Explore the history of downtown's police force, firefighters, schools, libraries, businesses and theaters. An exhibit about the 1934 capture of John Dillinger and his gang includes his bulletproof vest.
