AAA Editor Notes
Tijuana Wax Museum is downtown at the corner of Calle 1 and Av. Madero, along the pedestrian walkway connecting the international border crossing with Av. Revolución. Figures depict both the famous and infamous from Mexico, the United States and around the world. The first room, filled with figures from early Mexican history, features ancient ruler Moctezuma II in a giant headdress as well as a convincingly gory diorama depicting Aztec sacrifice, right down to the unlucky victim with a ripped-open chest.

The galleries featuring Hollywood stars and musical legends are where you'll have the most fun deciding who is acceptably—or unacceptably—lifelike. Eddie Murphy and Whoopi Goldberg come off fairly well, but Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford, Julia Roberts and Madonna look downright frightening, and Michael Jackson resembles a clone of sister La Toya rather than the pop superstar of the “Thriller” era. This is an enjoyable way to spend an hour in Tijuana.
