AAA Editor Notes
King's Square is in the heart of town. In front of the 1782 Town Hall are replicas of stocks, a pillory, a whipping post and a ducking stool, once used to punish gossiping and other 18th-century offenses. Several times a week at noon, St. George's town crier appears in period costume to convene a mock tribunal. On the grounds is the Bank of Butterfield, housed in a restored 1776 building and reportedly the oldest bank in Bermuda.
