Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area is 13 km (6 mi.) w. on Hwy. 3. The 7,000-hectare (17,297-acre) area permits hiking, seasonal camping, bicycling, hunting, canoeing and picnicking in a managed waterfowl habitat. More than 100,000 migrating water birds visit each year and it also is a winter home for many birds of prey. A variety of programs and canoe trips originate at the Wildlife Interpretation Centre, which houses natural history displays and a theater.
