Kootenay Trout Hatchery

Kootenay Trout Hatchery is 8 km (5 mi.) n. on the e. side of the Kootenay River at 4522 Fenwick Rd. The facility raises 3 million trout annually. An aquarium contains fish species raised at the hatchery, including the rare white sturgeon. Displays explain fish raising. An outside moat holds large rainbow trout.
