Garibaldi Provincial Park is accessible by trail from Hwy. 99 or the British Columbia Railway. The 194,650-hectare (480,980-acre) park is a pristine wilderness of peaks, glaciers, meadows, lakes and streams. The park is named after 2,678-metre (8,786 ft.) Mount Garibaldi and is in the Coast Mountains. .

Access to the Garibaldi Lake/Black Tusk Area is by a 7-kilometre (5 mi.) trail off Hwy. 99, about 37 kilometres (23 mi.) north of Squamish. A gravel road leads 16 kilometres (10 mi.) to the base camp parking lot, where a trail follows Paul Ridge 11 kilometres (7 mi.) to the Diamond Head Area. Glacier-fed Cheakamus Lake lies at an elevation of less than 914 metres (2,999 ft.).

Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
