AAA Editor Notes
Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, s. on SR 1, encompasses 964 acres of coastal redwood and chaparral on the Big Sur River. Hiking trails wind through groves of redwoods and other conifers, stands of oaks, maples, alders and willows, and open meadows where black-tail deer might be spotted. Rangers conduct naturalist and campfire programs Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Year-round overnight camping is permitted.

Note: Much of the park is closed due to impacts caused by wildfires. Check the Caltrans website for traffic conditions and phone ahead for the latest park updates.

Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
