University of Southern California (USC)

University of Southern California (USC) is located n. of Exposition Blvd. between Figueroa St. and Vermont Ave. Founded in 1880, many campus buildings feature Romanesque architecture and have been backdrops for films. The pioneering School of Cinematic Arts, established in 1929, can be toured by appointment. Hancock Memorial Museum contains four rooms of the Hancock mansion, completed in 1909, and also may be toured by appointment. The Galen Center, at Figueroa Street and Jefferson Boulevard, hosts basketball and volleyball games as well as concerts and lectures.
