Elkhorn Slough Safari Nature Boat Tours departs from “A” dock in the Moss Landing Harbor, go 1 blk. w. off SR 1 onto Moss Landing Rd., n. onto Sandholdt Rd., then e. into the harbor parking lot. Two-hour cruises on a 27-foot pontoon boat explore the 7-mile Elkhorn Slough estuary. Led by a naturalist, the tours provide opportunities for sighting sea otters, harbor seals, terns, grebes and other species of waterfowl and shorebirds. The captain and naturalist provide information about slough ecology and natural history; photographs circulated during the trip help identify wildlife.
