Sacramento History Museum, 101 I St., occupies a structure designed to resemble the 1854 City Hall & Waterworks Building. The museum documents Sacramento history, beginning with the lobby exhibit Gold, Greed & Speculation: The Beginnings of Sacramento City. City founders, rivers, the gold rush and agriculture are among the topics covered. Original artifacts and interactive exhibits include a historic print shop, gold troughs, agricultural machinery and a Wells Fargo delivery wagon.
