Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is bordered by Twiggs, Juan, Taylor and Congress sts. just n. of downtown. Parking is available at Taylor St. and Pacific Hwy. as well as at the CalTrans District Office Complex at Taylor and Sunset sts. This California settlement depicts the Mexican and early American years of 1821 to 1872 with historic buildings, museums and adobe homes. Nearby Presidio Park is the site of California's first permanent Euro-American settlement, established in 1769. A guide book detailing self-guiding tours of the park is available at the Robinson-Rose Visitor Information Center for $3.
