AAA Editor Notes
The Contemporary Jewish Museum is at 736 Mission St. between 3rd and 4th sts., in the Yerba Buena cultural district. Designed by noted architect Daniel Libeskind, the museum is in the 1907 former Jessie Street Power Station. The contemporary design is reminiscent of the Hebrew letters that form the word l'chaim, which means “to life.” Its traveling and permanent exhibits examine and celebrate Jewish culture, history, art and ideas.

Guided tours are available. Food is available.
