AAA Editor Notes
The Marine Mammal Center is in the Marin Headlands at 2000 Bunker Rd., within Fort Cronkhite. The center is an animal hospital that rescues and rehabilitates sick, injured and distressed marine animals from the California coast. Said to be the largest marine mammal facility in the world to combine rehabilitation with an on-site research lab, the center treats 600 to 800 animals a year.

Seals, sea lions, dolphins, porpoises and sea otters are frequent residents; visitors can see the animals in different “pens” being cared for by staff members. Exhibits provide information about marine mammals, ocean conservation and the center's work.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
