L.A. County Arboretum and Botanic Garden, just s. of I-210 at 301 N. Baldwin Ave., encompasses 127 acres of trees and shrubs arranged by continent of origin. Highlights include a tropical greenhouse, rose and herb gardens, the Meyberg Waterfall and an arboretum reference library. Of interest are the historic Queen Anne Cottage and Coach Barn, the Reid-Baldwin Adobe and the Santa Anita railroad depot.

Within the boundaries of the arboretum is Baldwin Lake. The Forest includes cycads, plants and trees from forest areas of Central and South America and the Northwestern United States, as well as an inviting system of ponds that support aquatic plants. Exhibits include the Australian Serpent Trail, the Madagascar Spiny Forest and the Desert Display Garden.

Guided tours are available. Food is available.
