AAA Editor Notes
Watts Towers of Simon Rodia State Historic Park is at 1727 E. 107th St. The park’s centerpiece are the 17 steel-reinforced columns tied with wire, wrapped in wire mesh and covered in concrete embedded with mirrors, seashells, glass, rocks, ceramic tile, pottery and marble built by Italian American immigrant Simon Rodia. The adjacent Watts Towers Arts Center and Charles Mingus Youth Arts Center provide guided tours of the towers, present rotating exhibitions in three galleries and produce the Annual Watts Towers Day of the Drum Festival and the Simon Rodia Watts Towers Jazz Festival. Both events are held the last weekend in September.

Note: Guided tours inside the Watts Towers are canceled during a 3-year restoration project. Guided tours outside the fence still are offered.

Guided tours are available.
