NASA Ames Research Center is off US 101 (Moffett Field exit). This NASA field center conducts research on information technology, astrobiology and aeronautics. The NASA Ames Visitor Center, at the research center's main gate, features a moon rock, a Mercury spacecraft, space suits and interactive displays highlighting a variety of NASA missions to the moon and Mars. Also displayed is a mock-up of a laboratory aboard the International Space Station.
The Immersive Theater's 14-foot-tall, 36-foot-wide screen features high-definition videos showing Mars missions and simulated flights through the Milky Way galaxy and beyond, as well as numerous scientific contributions made by NASA Ames researchers.
