Hoover Tower

Hoover Tower, on Serra Mall, houses the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution and Peace, a public policy research center devoted to the study of world conflict. The institution was founded in 1919 by Herbert Hoover, a member of the university's first class, who would later become the nation's 31st president.

The 285-foot-tall tower is topped by a 48-bell carillon. The building and an observation deck can be visited.
