AAA Editor Notes
Governor's Mansion State Historic Park is at 1526 H St. Within the park is the Governor's Mansion, occupied by 13 California governors and their families between 1903 and 1967. Furnishings and decorative accents inside this Second Empire Italianate mansion, built in 1877 for a hardware merchant, reflect the changing tastes and styles of the governors and first ladies who occupied it. The grounds contain flowers, shrubs and trees, including some trees planted the year the mansion was constructed.

Note: The Governor's Mansion remains closed for renovations; phone ahead for updated reopening information.
