The owners of this contemporary Italian bistro are recent transplants from Italy. Their philosophy focuses on sustainability, both in their food and in the design of their restaurant. The menu showcases locally grown and seasonal ingredients; the bar and dining areas were created using reclaimed, natural materials. Some specialty dishes include zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta cheese and salami; Neapolitan-style potato croquettes; slow-braised short rib pappardelle; and chicken cacciatore. For vegans, there is an expansive list of dishes to choose from, including lasagne and fettuccini with wild mushroom ragu. With desserts big enough for sharing, the cannoli are worth the splurge.
