California's Great America, at 4701 Great America Pkwy. between US 101 and SR 237, is a 100-acre family theme park combining movie magic with theme park thrills and excitement. Among more than 50 rides and attractions are the Great Barrier Reef wave pool; a double-decker carousel; Drop Tower, a 20-story free-fall ride; and Delirium, a spinning pendulum-like ride. Among the nine roller coasters is Patriot, a floorless coaster that reaches 45 mph.
Other highlights include the Australian-themed Boomerang Bay water park with waterslides and lazy river.
