AAA Editor Notes
Santa Maria Museum of Flight, 3015 Airpark Dr., displays 12 airplanes within two hangars, including a 1929 Fleet Model 2, A-4 Skyhawk, F-4 Phantom, Folland Gnat, L5 Stinson, a full-scale Wright 1902 Glider replica and the Stinson V-77 Reliant. An extensive collection of model planes depicts aviation history from the Wright brothers’ pioneering effort to the Stealth bomber. Also on view is the once-secret Norden Bombsight, the Hughes H-1 from the film “The Aviator” and a mock-up model from “The Flight of the Phoenix.”
