AAA Editor Notes
Museum of Mexican Medicine (Museo de Medicina Mexicana) is at the opposite end of the Santo Domingo Plaza at República de Brasil and República de Venezuela. Formerly a college of medicine, it has rooms dedicated to medical equipment—some of it archaic—and a re-creation of an old pharmacy. Other displays include an old dentist's office with antique chair, laboratory set-ups, amputation and ophthalmological tools, early needles and a 19th-century respirator with a turn wheel.

Some of the exhibits, such as skulls showing the results of brain surgery, mannequins afflicted with various skin diseases and one detailing aborted fetuses at different stages, are quite graphic.

Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
