AAA Editor Notes
The Museum of the Purpose of the Object (Museo del Objeto del Objeto) is at Av. Colima #145, e. of Chapultepec Park in the Colonia Roma neighborhood (M: Insurgentes, line 1). This museum's displays celebrate the quotidian. The hodgepodge of everyday objects in the permanent collection, which date from the early 19th century to the present, runs the gamut from soda bottles and soap wrappers to coffee cans and shoeshine kit boxes. You'll also see vintage household appliances, kitchen utensils and clothing. Items are displayed on a rotating basis, often based on an overall theme.

Temporary exhibits promote both Mexican design and the art of collecting. The work of Mexican artists is often featured, and exhibits with a pop culture emphasis bring in the city's hipsters.
