Nico's

Historic. The old adage "don't judge a book by its' cover" fits in well here at this famed restaurant serving authentic dishes since 1957. The exterior is unremarkable but once inside this place buzzes with excitement while the cuisine takes center stage. Patrons literally line up to dine here. The chef uses indigenous ingredients and with some Mexican-inspired recipes dating back centuries. Rich sauces made with various chiles and moles are served with rabbit, lamb, octopus and wild boar. A roving beverage cart with an impressive selection of mezcals traverses the dining room floor. The dinner hours are short as they close at 6 p.m each evening.
