Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is 8 mi. w. on US 50, then 4.3 mi. s. on CR 3A. The bridge is the highest suspension bridge in the United States. Built in 1929, the bridge spans the scenic Royal Gorge nearly 1,000 feet above the Arkansas River.

The park offers more than 360 acres of scenery, history and rides, including the Royal Rush Skycoaster, an aerial tram across the canyon, a zipline, several children’s attractions, a theater, a carousel and scenic trails for walking and bicycling. The bridge, aerial tram and theater are open year-round; other attractions are available May through Sept. A concert series is offered at the Elk Park Amphitheater late June through mid-Sept.

Note: Park admission is charged before crossing the bridge. Vehicles are not permitted on the bridge at any time. Parking is free, and transportation across the bridge is provided May through Sept. Allow 3 hours, 30 minutes minimum during peak season.
