Hand-built in Tajikistan, this teahouse was given to Boulder as a sign of friendship from its sister city Dushanbe. Try a Tajikistani dish like the plov, a beef-and-vegetable rice dish; lamb shish kebabs; or Persian chickpea kufteh—vegetarian croquettes. Other internationally inspired entrées include Korean pan-fried noodles, Mexican tinga poblano and spring Italian pappardelle. If you give them 24-hour advance notice, you can enjoy a traditional, English-style afternoon tea.
