U.S. Air Force Academy, 14 mi. n. on I-25 to exit 156 at 2306 Academy Dr., prepares cadets for careers in the Air Force. Guests may visit the Cadet Chapel, Field House, Arnold Hall, the Honor Court and the Visitor Center. The newest of the nation’s service academies, the U.S. Air Force Academy graduated its first class in 1959.

The Visitor Center has many exhibits including a cadet dorm room and a 21-minute movie about life at the Academy. The Field House is where new cadets begin their careers and is the site of athletic events. Arnold Hall is a concert and entertainment venue with a variety of food options. The Academy’s Honor Court includes bronze statues, aircraft and Air Force memorials. Polaris Hall—a 46,000-square-foot glass tower built to align with the North Star—houses the Center for Character and Leadership Development.
