Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History is at 170 Whitney Ave. at Sachem St.; visitor parking is 1 blk. n. at the s. end of Yale lot No. 22. The museum features fossils of dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals, dioramas of North American habitat groups and birds of Connecticut and collections devoted to the Pacific Islands, the Plains Indians, ancient Egypt and Central and South America. A 70-minute audio tour provides an inside look at some of the exhibits.

NOTE: The Great Hall and Mammal Hall will be closed for restoration December 31, 2019. The rest of the museum will close June 30, 2020 and is scheduled to re-open in 2023.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
