AAA Inspector Notes
This 1853 former home of a sea captain was incredibly restored and turned into an inn in 2016. The nautical-chic themed rooms feature fine quality furnishings, amenities and sumptuous Matouk bedding. Most of the classic-styled bathrooms have white tile showers, sustainable Public Goods bath products and scented air diffusers. Others have a separate claw-foot tub and antique pedestal sinks. Daily snacks, such as roasted nuts and chocolate chip cookies, are provided along with French press coffee, which can be delivered to your room. Guests have access to a 1920s style speakeasy bar in the basement, which is entered through a secret door behind a bookcase. Recreational activities include bocce, croquet and biking. The many shops of Mystic are located just a few blocks away. Passes to a nearby gym are provided to those who would like a traditional workout. Guests can also sign up for the "Ford Expedition” experience which allows you to test drive their newest model for 3 hours. Discerning diners will appreciate the expertly prepared cuisine, which focuses on ingredients from New England farms in their restaurant. Be sure to check out the top-floor cupola, which offers stunning views of Mystic's waterfront.
