Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center is at George Washington's Mount Vernon, 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy. Visitors learn about George Washington in 23 galleries and theaters through interactive displays, short videos and a collection of some 700 items. Computers provide access to more than 20,000 letters penned by Washington.

Museum highlights include a bust of the first president sculpted by Jean-Antoine Houdon noted for its remarkable likeness; objects accumulated by Washington from Europe and other parts of the world; historic articles relating to Washington’s military career and presidency; a gallery offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the daily lives of the Washington family; and a collection of books, manuscripts and maps.

Lives Bound Together: Slavery at George Washington's Mount Vernon provides insight into the daily lives of those who worked in the Washington household as well as George Washington's changing views on slavery through artwork, documents, furnishings, archaeological discoveries and interactive displays.

The education center features original videos produced by The History Channel offering viewers a state-of-the-art theater experience depicting Washington’s life story.
