AAA Editor Notes
DAR Museum is at 1776 D St. N.W. Maintained by the Daughters of the American Revolution, it has 31 period rooms displaying furniture, ceramics, glass, paintings, silver and decorative arts made or used in early America. Changing exhibits also are presented. The DAR Library, in Memorial Continental Hall, was founded in 1896 as a genealogical research facility. The library's Americana Collection contains more than 4,000 historic manuscripts and rare imprints highlighting life during the Colonial and Revolutionary War eras and the early days of the American republic.
