Senate and House Office Buildings

Senate and House Office Buildings are on opposite sides of the United States Capitol. The House offices face Independence Ave. between 1st St. S.W. and 1st St. S.E. The Rayburn Building is the westernmost of the House buildings; the Longworth Building is next door; and the Cannon Building is at 1st Street and Independence Avenue S.E. Housed in the Russell, Dirksen and Hart buildings, the Senate offices are along Constitution Avenue between Delaware Avenue and 2nd Street N.E. Visitors are permitted to stop by the offices of their senators and representatives.

Note: Visitors must pass through security screenings prior to entering the buildings. Fluctuating security situations may affect public access. The Capitol South Metro station is closest to the House office buildings; the Union Station stop is closer to the Senate buildings.
