John Dickinson Plantation, 6 mi. s. on US 113, then .1 mi. e. to 340 Kitts Hummock Rd., was the boyhood home of John Dickinson, known as the Penman of the American Revolution and attributed with drafting the Articles of Confederation in 1778. Dickinson's 1740s brick house and reconstructed farm complex exemplify area 18th-century plantation architecture.
