AAA Editor Notes
Museum of the Everglades is at 105 W. Broadway Ave. The museum is housed in the former laundry built in 1927 for workers constructing the Tamiami Trail across the Everglades. Permanent exhibits recount the early history of this erstwhile company town and describe the region's first settlers. The life of Collier County developer and self-made millionaire Barron G. Collier also is highlighted. A gallery features short-term exhibits.

Special events are planned several times a year.
