Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum, 4155 W. Vine St., offers a detailed history of Osceola County with interactive displays about its discovery by the Spanish, the lives of pioneers and cracker cowboys, early industry and early tourism. Illustrating the county's history are historic photos, tools, clothing and a hand-dug 1750 canoe. Exhibits also provide details about such area habitats as swamplands, pine flatwoods, oak hammocks and lakefront. A trailhead to the Shingle Creek Regional Trail is located on the grounds.
