Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens is at 1590 Goodlette-Frank Rd. Founded in 1919, the 44-acre zoo features a self-guiding trail that winds through a historic botanical garden populated by big cats, macaws, zebras, black bears, a Florida panther, red ruffed lemurs, honey badgers and other animals. South American wildlife include a giant anteater and cotton-top tamarins. An exhibit allows visitors to feed giraffes. Visitors can observe natural animal behavior complemented by wildlife footage and graphics during two feature presentations in the Safari Canyon Theater. Also scheduled are keeper talks, alligator feedings and Reptile Rendezvous presentations. A 20-minute boat cruise offers views of monkeys, brown and ring-tailed lemurs and gibbons roaming freely on island habitats.

Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 4 hours minimum.
