Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park is on US 19 at 4150 S. Suncoast Blvd., 6 mi. n. of jct. US 19/98, following signs. Source of the Homosassa River, the freshwater spring emits millions of gallons each hour at a constant temperature of 72 F. Manatees and fresh- and saltwater fish can be seen through the windows of a floating observatory. The Wildlife Walk provides views of native wildlife, including two Florida panthers, whooping cranes and Key deer. Manatee, wildlife encounters and alligator and hippo programs are presented daily. Pontoon boats and trams shuttle visitors to and from the park.

Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
