John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, on US 1 at mile marker 102.6, combines a land area with 178 nautical square miles of protected ocean waters. Features include a living coral reef, the underwater bronze statue “Christ of the Deep,” two beaches, a boardwalk through a mangrove area and a visitor center with a 30,000-gallon saltwater aquarium. Snorkel, scuba and glass-bottom boat tours are offered. Snorkeling tours to view “Christ of the Deep” are ocean and weather permitting only; the area is too shallow for glass-bottom boat tours. Boat, kayak, canoe and snorkeling charter boat rentals also are available.

Guided tours are available. Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
