Fort De Soto

Fort De Soto, on the southern end of Mullet Key, was begun during the Spanish-American War but was incomplete at war's end. Its guns never were fired in battle. There are walkways around the fort ruins. A pamphlet outlining a self-guiding tour along the Historical Trail is available. A ferry to Egmont Key State Park is available for a fee.
