Georgia Aquarium is downtown at 225 Baker St., across from Centennial Olympic Park (MARTA: CNN Center or Peachtree Center stations). At the aquarium you can see whale sharks, manta rays, bottlenose dolphins and hundreds of other species. Its six major exhibit galleries contain more than 10 million gallons of water and showcase a fascinating variety of marine life.

Ocean Voyager Built by The Home Depot is home to four whale sharks—the world's largest fish—along with many other sharks, groupers, stingrays, schools of bluestriped grunts and four manta rays. Guests can view from the enormous theater-style window or walk through the exhibit in a 100-foot acrylic tunnel.

The Dolphin Coast gallery, theater and presentation is dedicated to creating memorable connections between humans and animals and allows guests to get an up-close look at the beauty and athleticism of bottlenose dolphins.

Tropical Diver boasts a living reef inhabited by hundreds of colorful reef fish. Exhibits include jellies, moray eels, live coral and other interesting animals. Here guests can learn about the diversity and delicate nature of coral reef.

Cold Water Quest features harbor seals, southern sea otters, puffins, anemones and an African penguin habitat as well as amazing beluga whales, which are found in Arctic and sub-Arctic regions including Alaska, Russia and Greenland.

In Southern Company River Scout, a freshwater gallery, visitors can come face to face with alligator gar, exotic fish from the Amazon basin and a school of piranhas. Asian small-clawed otters energetically chase each other through the water, aided by feet that are partially webbed.

Truist Pier 225 features California sea lions, and throughout the day guests can catch Under the Boardwalk, an informative presentation about these charismatic marine mammals.

But wait, there's more! Guests can discover more about aquatic life in Aquanaut Adventure: A Discovery Zone, an interactive exhibit for all ages. The 4-D Funbelievable Theater combines digital projection, high-definition 3-D film and special effects in multiple experiences throughout the day.

For an insider's perspective of the exhibit galleries, take one of the Behind the Seas Tours. Animal encounter and interaction programs also allow visitors to have an up-close experience with dolphins, sea otters, beluga whales, harbor seals and African penguins or to swim or scuba dive with whale sharks.

Check the schedule for animal feedings and other special events offered throughout the day.
