Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial Museum, part of Roosevelt’s Little White House State Historic Site, is .2 mi. s. on US 27A adjacent to Roosevelt's Little White House at 401 Little White House Rd. The 11,000-square-foot museum features exhibits about Roosevelt’s life and political career. Visitors can see his parade stagecoach and hand-controlled 1938 Ford convertible and listen to radio recordings of the famous “Fireside Chats.” A film narrated by Walter Cronkite shows footage of FDR visiting his Warm Springs neighbors. Roosevelt died after suffering a stroke while posing for a portrait; the “Unfinished Portrait” is displayed. An exhibit about Eleanor Roosevelt's life also is on display.
