Fort Morris State Historic Site is off I-95 exit 76, 7 mi. e. via Islands Hwy. (SR 38) and Fort Morris Rd., following brown Liberty Trail signs. The Continental Congress commissioned Fort Morris in 1776, and American patriots garrisoned the post to protect the port of Sunbury against British forces in the Revolutionary War and, as Fort Defiance, in the War of 1812. A video presentation and a museum interpret the history of the site. Special events are offered throughout the year.
